MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
(UPINGTON AREA)
Requirements:
- An appropriate technical qualification, preferably a qualified Electrician.
- Code B driver’s license.
- High level of technical proficiency enhanced by suitable experience in garden maintenance, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, basic electrical work and plumbing (including pumps).
- High levels of energy and work-efficiency.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Meticulousness and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead a diverse team.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
- Be in a physical fit condition and have the ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
- Basic computer literacy (E-mail, MS Word and Excel)
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
- Code C driver’s license with PrDP is an added advantage.
Key Tasks:
- Planning routine and ad-hoc maintenance activities and repairs.
- Assigning tasks to maintenance staff and inspecting their work.
- Personally carrying out maintenance and repairs within the limits of own expertise.
- Outsourcing any work for which the required skills are not possessed in-house.
- Following prescribed financial processes to procure materials and/or services.
- Ensuring that all equipment and tools are well organized.
- Controlling the issue of consumables, personal protective equipment, tools, etc.
- Ensuring occupational health and safety guidelines are adhered to.
- Transportation of staff.
- Regular inspection of grounds, facilities and equipment to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
- Conducting patrols on campus to ensure safety and security.
