Our client, with retail branches and specialist brands that offer high-quality farming supplies, solutions, and a broad range of retail products to a diverse customer base has the following opportunity for an analytical, commercially minded candidate that is passionate about driving value through smart sourcing and strong supplier relationships.

BUYER: PAINT
Paarl, Western Cape

Requirements:
  • B Degree in Procurement with at least 2 years relevant experience, preferably within the FMCG / Retail environment.
  • Specialist knowledge of paint products and paint procurement
  • Strong category & product knowledge
  • Advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Own transport and valid driver’s licence, with willingness to travel
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak periods
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main contact for suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Identify product optimisation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support product development, seasonal planning, and category strategies.
  • Negotiate pricing, resolve discrepancies, and manage supplier performance.
  • Purchase products according to demand plans and monitor supply risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with category needs.
  • Maintain accurate pricing and procurement data within the ERP system.
